Hello Cathy - What a treat to read your reflection and see the technology related learning compiled in one place. It certainly is impressive! Is Steph's class the one to be the first class in the NE region to record the weather?
I thoroughly enjoy Voicethread when I visit one of the teacher pages - it's a virtual visit to the classroom.
The fourth graders are becoming more sophisticated and confident with their technology skills. Teaching them to effectively and critically use Internet resources and databases will broaden their learning.
I agree that during your absence teachers collaborated to learn from one another and to continue on as if you were here. I noticed that they embraced technology and all it can do to expand and deepen knowledge out of respect for the progress and learning with you. You may not have physically been here, but the seeds you planted over the years continued to grow and be nutured.
Thanks for all you do, Cathy! Betsy

I just read this entry, Cathy, and really appreciate all of the time you've put into organizing resources and helping us access new ways of intergrating technology into instruction. It seems that so many teachers are hungry to learn more and utilize the many tech/ multi-media opportunities that exist for our students.

Cathy,
Wow, it's incredible to see all of the technology learning that is taking place in our school! Thanks for inspiring all of us and encouraging us to try, even if we may not "get it right" the first time.

Cathy thank you for mentioning Classroom 2.0 to me. I've also enjoyed reviewing the poster of the 2.0 classroom that you put in the hallway. It inspired me to center both of my classroom homework assignments around Classroom 2.0. I'm engergized by the many engaging tools and activities that I've found to try with my students as a result of this work.

Cathy, you do an amazing job collaborating with everyone at Y.E.S.. It was neat to read about all of the wonderful things that are going on in our school. Seeing it all compiled like that was very cool. You are a gifted technology coordinator and Y.E.S. is lucky to have you.

Cathy,
I'm an elementary school teacher in Louisiana. I, too, have been hesistant in going public with my blogs and website. I just attended our state educational technology conference. Everything was Web 2.0. I decided to name my new blog Kindergarten 2.0. Global collaboration is the name of the game now.
I have only read a few lines of your blog, but am ready to tag it for future reading. Thanks for you input to the profession. It is truly a new generation in education.
Four years ago I attended the NECC convention in New Orleans. I heard the terms wikkis and blogs for the first time. I was already behind then. Now I realize that social bookmarking is the key ingredient. Hooray for freeware.
By the way, I found your blog because of a question you posed to the Edublogs folks.
Good luck in your class.
