Course Reflection – Day 5

Where has the time gone this week? I’ve learned many new things and the adventure toward more draws me forward. What are some new learnings?

Active use of Twitter by adding more people to follow, writing and checking it; Widgets on the sidebars of my blog; Connecting my web pages, blogs & wikis in one space; Exploring and viewing video podcasts from NECC, National Geographic, etc.; Adding slideshows of photos to my school index page; Avatars from Lego blocks; entering Second Life; Connect2.0 ning; WebCasting Academy; Slideshare; MindMeister; the networking aspects of del.icio.us and on & on…

Whenever I finish a class I always have a bag full of readings and reflections I want to get back to and connect to the real work of school. Unfortunately they usually stay in the bag and I have every expectation that this blog will stay present and alive.

Thanks to all participants and most of all to Alice for all the preparation and enthusiasm that made for an outstanding week!!

Thanks Cathy! Enjoyed having you in class and appreciate your thoughtful additions to our class discussions. You blog is wonderful! And look how many people are already reading your work! Good luck with your course next week.

    Hi Cathy,
What a wonderful way to record your learning – I am undertaking a similar journey over yonder in New Zealand – it is great that you get a how-to course on this stuff as I have been spending hours teaching myself! Luckily people blog about their thoughts so I can tap into those rather than recreating the wheel on my own!!
If you would like to see an example of a year 2 class (6-7 year old) blogging you can check out my class writing blog meadowbankroom18.blogspot.com and our class blog meadowbankreporters.blogspot.com. I also have a blog recording my learning journey marniethomas.blogspot.com and will definately be keeping an eye on your blog to see what you are learning (will learn remotely through you!). Thanks for sharing. Also, do you get given online readings or only paper ones as I would really like a source of ideas to read…

You mentioned that you learned how to do widgets on your blog- I just saw your ClustrMap and its amazing that yu’ve already had visitors from multiple continents. I need one of those!

    Hi,
Thank you for recording your thoughts and what you’re learning about web 2.0. I started blogging with my class in February of this year and we posted our first podcasts in June. I can’t wait for the new year to start and add to our web adventures.
