Read/Write Web Class

Published by Cathy Wolinsky at 11:14 am under Courses, Portfolio Reflections, Professional

This is my first post from the Read/Write Web Class at USM ably taught by Alice Barr. This blog will help me keep track of what I’ve done each day.

My Goal for this class is as follows:

Why? I want to offer new literacy opportunities to K-4 teachers and students in Yarmouth this year. I need to be prepared to connect with the curriculum at each grade, the varied experience levels of teachers and the learning needs of students. I want to move the emphasis from individual learning to connected, collaboration between students, classes and teachers.

What? I would like to have a proposal for each grade level ready to share in September.

How? I will work on blogs, wikis and podcasts to see what I want to do for each grade level. My project will be what I will share with teachers and students.

This is great! Will you choose one tool for each of them? Or will you brainstorm with the teachers to see what new tools they will want to use?

I was thinking today about what preparation I should be doing on my own and what I may need to ease into once everyone is back at school. I am thinking that I need to present enough about the options to prepare for brainstorming as the options for what we can do have expanded so much. Thanks for your feedback.
